Supporting Children and Young People to Feel Safe, Confident and Engaged in Learning

AOSE Educational Support provides personalised 1:1 support for children and young people who may be experiencing barriers to education due to anxiety, emotional wellbeing needs, EBSA, SEND-related challenges, low confidence, or difficulties engaging with learning.

Support is child-centred, relationship-based, and tailored carefully to each individual's needs.

AOSE offers personalised 1:1 support within school settings during school hours.

Support may benefit pupils who are:

  • Struggling with emotional regulation

  • Experiencing EBSA

  • Presenting with SEND-related barriers

  • Experiencing low confidence or self-esteem

Sessions focus on building trust, emotional safety, confidence, and positive engagement with learning.

Emotional Wellbeing & Confidence Building

Many children experiencing anxiety or SEND-related barriers need support that focuses on emotional wellbeing as well as learning.

Support may include:

  • Building confidence and self-esteem

  • Developing positive relationships

  • Emotional regulation strategies

  • Supporting emotional wellbeing

  • Exploring strengths and interests

  • Encouraging independence and resilience

Home-Based Support

AOSE also provides support during school hours for children and young people who are currently unable to access mainstream education.

For some children, working within a familiar and emotionally safe environment can help reduce pressure, build confidence, and create more positive experiences around learning.

Support is tailored carefully to the child's individual needs and circumstances.

Learning Engagement & Re-engagement

AOSE recognises that learning can feel overwhelming for some children.

Support may help children:

  • Rebuild confidence around learning

  • Develop positive learning experiences

  • Increase engagement and motivation

  • Explore learning through individual interests

  • Reduce anxiety associated with education

The focus is not solely academic attainment but helping children reconnect with learning in a positive and achievable way.

AOSE values positive partnerships with:

  • Parents and carers

  • Schools

  • SENCos
